The pre-selection for the young stallion grading in December will take place from 30 October to 2 November 2023 in Elmshorn.
"Due to the change of the grading date, the period between the pre-selection and the grading will be significantly shortened for the benefit of the stallions and their trainers", Breeding Director Stephan Haarhoff had explained when the grading for 2021 candidates was scheduled for 14 to 16 December this year. Now there are only five weeks between the pre-selection and the grading event. During the pre-selection, the stallions will first be tested in free jumping and then on the hard surface. This is followed by the presentation on paces. A helmet requirement for presenters and whip handlers had already been established and will continue to apply this year.

Spectators are cordially invited to watch the pre-selection of the young stallions live in the Fritz-Thiedemann-Halle in Elmshorn from October 30th to November 2nd. Admission is free. The results will be published on 3 November 2023.
