This year's mare inspection dates in Schleswig-Holstein begin in May, and in June in the European breeding district together with the foal inspection and registration dates. You can register your mare(s) until 22 March 2024 - this is also possible online for the first time this year via the new Holsteiner Online member area.

What is the purpose of mare inspection?
If you want to actively breed with your three-year-old or older mare, the mare must be registered in the Verband's studbook. During mare inspection, the mares are presented in hand and at liberty and receive marks for type, topline, front foot, hind foot, walk, trot and canter. The mares can receive a special award (premium) based on the scoring and certain pedigree requirements.
