Today, Sunday, great sport was once again offered at the Bundeschampionat. Horses from the land between the seas shone both in the show jumping course on the Burandtwiese and in the Warendorf cross-country.
Five-year-old show jumpers: Gold and silver for Holstein
The new Bundeschampion of the five-year-old show jumpers is Vendigo by Van Gogh-Kannan (Rita Siebke-Baasch). Hannes Ahlmann piloted the Holsteiner to dream scores in a demanding final test at M* level with two rounds. The pair was able to increase the 9.0 from round one to a 9.2 in the second round. "I have had Vendigo for a few months, but in that short time we have already noticed how well we fit together," Hannes Ahlmann was pleased afterwards. The silver medal also went to Holstein, to Cassy by Cicero Z-Contender (Elmar Teves) and Richard Vogel with scores of 8.7 and 9.0. The judging panel praised, among other things, the energetic foaling of the chestnut mare.

Six-year-old show jumpers
Ten Holsteiner horses had recommended themselves for the final jumping competition for six-year-old show jumpers, a demanding medium (M**) level jumping competition with jump-off, over two qualifications. The jump-off was won by Winnetou by VDL Harley-Kannan (France Zanetti) and Alexandra Witt, who had already impressed in the previous tests.
