The year 2022 is a year of major changes. In addition to moving the young stallion licensing to February, the Holsteiner Verband would like to participate in the pilot project of the German Equestrian Federation (FN) and establish a short performance test (Kurz-VA) in Holstein. The performance test will be held in combination with a saddle licensing and the elite riding horse auction in Holstein. The postponement of the young stallion licensing is a decision for the benefit of the young stallions and has meanwhile also found approval in other breeding associations. By participating in the pilot project, it is hoped to gain information for Holsteiner breeders, who will be able to get a comprehensive picture of the riding characteristics of the young stallions. In addition, new synergy effects between the performance test, licensing and elite auction are expected to take effect.
Event I: Saddle Licensing and Short-VA + Elite Auction in Elmshorn (03. - 05.11.2022)
The newly created event, consisting of the Saddle Licensing, the Short VA and the Elite Riding Horse Auction will take place in Elmshorn from November 03 to 05, 2022. For the Saddle Licensing, which also serves as a performance test, 3- and 4-year-old Holsteiner stallions are admitted. The ideally performance-tested and licensed stallions of the Saddle Licensing can subsequently be marketed via the Elite Auction and go into breeding. In addition, 3- and 4-year-old Holsteiner stallions that have already been licensed and foreign-blooded stallions can take their short VA in Elmshorn. For the latter stallions, a recognition option for Holstein breeding is also to be created.
The complete chronologically presented licensing calendar with detailed information on the innovations can be found in the May issue of Pferd+Sport, which will be on sale from April 28.
