On 22 and 23 March 2024, the Holsteiner Verband at Elmshorn hosts a top-class event combining stallion grading, stallion presentation and spring auction. Advance ticket booking for this event has started and you should not wait too long to secure your tickets.
The stallions presented for grading start on Friday 22 March 2024 at about 1:00pm. The grading previously held in April involves a free jumping or course jumping phase as well as the presentation on hard ground. The final presentation of the 40 or so horses secured for the spring auction by executive director Felix Flinzer and his team is also held on the Friday, at about 4:00pm. Admission is free on Friday (22 March).
Stable chat, stallion presentation and auction on Saturday
Saturday 23 March 2024 begins at 1:00pm with the stable chat, where breeders and visitors are given opportunity to amble through the stable aisles, get a look at and information about the roundabout 35 stallions presented by the various stallion stations and chat with each other. Next on the agenda is the stallion presentation in the Fritz-Thiedemann-indoor arena at 3:00pm, where not only the Holsteiner Verband stallion keeping GmbH, but also a number of private Holsteiner station such as the Ahlmann, von Allwörden, Bengtsson and Fromberger, Maas J. Hell, Rödl and Völz stallion stations are represented, same as the stallion owners Lauck, Voss, and Witt as well as the Cellle and Neustadt upon Dosse main and state stud. Visitors can look forward to Holsteiner champion stallions, premium stallions and national championship finalists same as stallions with international achievements. “This is our first ever joint stallion presentation of this kind”, says breeding director Stephan Haarhoff. “I am really looking forward to this premiere at out Verband facility showcasing so many different stallions.” Visiting the event is definitely worthwhile – also because the stallion presentation is not live streamed, but will only be available in the ClipMyHorse.tv media library one day after the exclusive live experience. Once the stallions have been shown, the indoor arena belongs to the auction horses again, with the hybrid auction sale to kick off at about 7:00pm. The socializing will continue afterwards at the After Auction Party. Tickets are available from just 5 euros for admission on Saturday - these can be ordered online via eventim, at all known advance booking offices and at the Holsteiner Verband in Elmshorn.
Good to know: The ridden Holsteiner auction horses move into their box stalls at Elmshorn on Monday 26 February 2024. The first presentation of the ridden lots is scheduled for Saturday 2 March 2024 at 1:00pm. They can be tried out from 4 March. Feel free to meet the uncut diamonds after they have arrived on Wednesday 20 March 2024.
