European Championships Jumping in Milan: Today it starts!

Today at 1:15 p.m. starts the first individual and team qualification of the European Championships Jumping in Milan. 15 teams are on site, a total of 85 starters and 14 Holsteiner.

The team of Switzerland is the opener, followed by the first rider for the team from France and then with Jur Vrieling and Long John Silver by Lasino-Corrado I (Peter Burmeister, Wangels), Stamm 2896, pair one for the Netherlands. Germany has a comfortable starting position as the eleventh team. Jana Wargers and Limbridge by Limbus-Cambridge (Ralf Pawlowski, Heidenheim), Stamm 741, are seeded second for Germany. The two already competed at last year's World Championships in Herning. Wargers says, "I can trust Limbridge one hundred percent and rely on him. I learned a lot at my first championship last year - looking back, I didn't ride the best on the first day at the World Championships, I want to do better here and attack right from day one." The Zirocco Blue-Caretino son and Verband stallion Zuccero (Hanno Köhncke, Badendorf), Stamm 4539, is listed as the 30th starter and second for Sweden with Rolf-Göran Bengtsson.

The first team final round and the second individual qualification are scheduled for Thursday, August 31, starting at 1:15 p.m., before the medal decisions for the team on Friday (September 1), followed by the individual classification on Sunday.
