The European Show Jumping Championships came to an end on Sunday afternoon. The horses had to complete five demanding rounds over the week in Milan, Italy. The best 25 finally qualified for the final, among them five Holsteiner.
Eleventh place went to the eleven-year-old Zuccero by Zirroco Blue-Caretino (Hanno Köhncke, Badendorf), who was competing in his first international championship. And he did so for Sweden with Rolf-Göran Bengtsson in the saddle. Already on Friday the pair could be happy about the gold medal with the team. Right behind them, Cinca by Casall-Carthago with Michael Duffy (IRL) placed twelfth overall. But also this pair takes home precious metal. Namely silver from the team classification. Tornado VS by Toulon-Contender (Vanessa Schockemöhle, Mühlen) under Armando Traporte (ESP) followed in 15th place individually, Long John Silver by Lasino-Corrado I (Peter Burmester, Wangels) and Jur Vrieling (NED) came in 18th. Also qualified for the final - but they did not compete - were Jana Wargers and her proven Limbridge by Limbus-Cambridge (Ralf Pawlowski, Heidenheim) in 21st place.
