Good to know: How does a inspection and registration date work?
At the inspection sites, the foals are presented to the commission members at the foot of the dam for inspection. The foals are shown at walk and trot. The traits type and movement are each assessed with a mark. The type mark includes the correctness of the conformation and the age-appropriate state of development. The movement score is mainly determined by the trot movement. It can also be influenced by the walk and canter scores. A foal premium is awarded to foals that have received at least a score of 7 in both traits. Since 2010, the linear description has also been carried out at the foal inspection dates. Depending on the number of foals entered, there will be a mixed final ring/championship (in Schleswig-Holstein per breeding district) or one each separated for colts and fillies.
