Final Exam of the Station Test for Mares on 2nd May

After a 14-day training period in Elmshorn, the mares of the 2024 station test will have their final test on Thursday, 2 May.

Starting at 9 a.m., the mares will show themselves in the free jumping arena before continuing with the test under saddle in the basic gaits. In addition to the assessment of the basic gaits, rideability and free jumping, the test also includes interior characteristics, which are summarised as a score for the characteristic "willingness to perform and handling".

A completed station test not only provides an overview of the mare's strengths and weaknesses for an upcoming sport career or stallion selection, a good result also makes it easier to market the offspring later on.

Further information on mare testing at the Holsteiner Verband can be found here.

Spectators are cordially invited to watch the final test in Elmshorn!
